OUR NATURAL INGREDIENTS
Olive Oil
Our gorgeous organic olive oil is derived from olives grown on the beautiful hills and mountains of the area of Rethymnon in northern Crete.
Olive oil is a natural moisturiser that increases the water content of the skin helping to visibly improve its health and appearance. It has natural antibacterial properties and is effective at softening and moisturising the skin.
Olive oil contains vitamins A, D, E and K - Vitamin E which can help to reduce inflammation and promote skin healing.
And it also contains antioxidants and squalene that can help protect the skin from environmental damage and sun exposure and help to prevent premature aging.
Aloe Vera
The Aloe Vera plant has long been used in natural healthcare. Beneath the spiky exterior, the smooth gel inside the leaves is often described as a ‘miracle’ product that is beneficial to both skin and hair.
Aloe Vera can soften the skin and unlike many shop bought moisturisers, it doesn’t leave a greasy film. It contains vitamins C and E, meaning it can help fight skin ageing - reducing the appearance of fine lines by increasing the production of collagen and therefore skin elasticity.
Shea Butter
Shea butter is a fat that comes from the nut of the Karite tree that is native to West Africa.
The butter has been used for centuries as a cosmetic ingredient due to its high vitamin and fatty acid content and the fact that it is easy to spread.
Shea Butter doesn’t clog pores and is suitable for all skin types. The oils it contains are easily absorbed and won’t make your skin feel greasy. Its anti-inflammatory properties help to protect your lips from the effects of the weather and dryness. It can also help to minimise fine lines and promote plumpness.
Beeswax
Beeswax (cera alba) is a natural wax excreted by young honey bees from special glands beneath their bellies, as a liquid, it then hardens once exposed to the air. It is often used in cosmetics, particularly lip balm.
It is very moisturising and can help to protect the lips from the environment. It may also prevent infections and cold sores due to its antibacterial properties. Bees wax contains natural emulsifiers - these will work to retain moisture in the skin.
